Salsa Di Pomodori

This special family recipe was created by my great grandmother, Mary DiLanciano, from Lanciano, Italy. With a sweet spot for marinara and a knack for maintaining the zest and brightness of the tomato, her recipe stuck. Two decades later her granddaughter married a man with a green thumb and an enormous garden. The summer brought far too many tomatoes leaving her (my mom) with a great excuse to can the family recipe. Endless tomatoes and sauce for days.
